Frequently asked questions
How soon do I need to make a reservation?
There is no required timeframe for making your reservation. To guarantee you get the date that you want, it is recommended to reserve your date and time as soon as it is decided. Keep in mind that summer months book quickly.
How many faces can be painted in an hour?
We estimate that between 12-15 faces can be painted in an hour.
Do you dress up?
We are not clowns, nor do we wear any type of costume. Our painters arrive professionally dressed in company shirts. We may on occasion have something painted on our cheek.
My child’s skin is sensitive. What kind of paint do you use?
Funtastic Faces uses FDA-approved, water-based makeup created for face and body painting. We use a mix of brands including TAG, FAB, Diamond FX, Wolfe Brothers, Mehron, and Paradise. Our glitter is polyester cosmetic glitter that is soft to the touch and safe for skin, lips, and eyelids.
How long have you been face painting?
Funtastic Faces has been in business for 14 years!
Can I leave the kids in your care?
No. When we are painting a child’s face our focus is on painting that child and not on anyone or anything else. Funtastic Faces cannot take responsibility for the children at a party.
How do children select the faces they wish to have painted?
We will provide a menu board/pictures for them to choose from.
Do you donate to charity events?
Yes, we do! We feel that it is important to support our community. Each year we donate to specific events and charities that are important to us. We consider it a privilege to give back.
How old do you have to be to get your face painted?
This depends on the child and how well they can sit still. We recommend children be at least 2 years old, while younger kids can get painted on their arms or hands as an option.
Is gratuity included?
Gratuity is not included in your total fee. For satisfactory service, a 10 – 20% gratuity is customary and appreciated for artists.
